#RedVolution: rise up with Cake Liberation

Last week I celebrated my 40th birthday. It was no way near as scary as I would have thought, when I was younger. In the end, it’s only a number and you truly are as young/old as you feel. My darling children keep me young with their funny antics and my climbing with them at the adventure playgrounds and such. Its crazy to say but through them I’m having a second childhood… almost. Anyway, to mark the occasion I met with friends, attended an Amy Tan book event at Foyles Bookshop and the week culminated in a dinner date with hubby. However, it’s all about the cake right?! WELL, I treated myself the most divine cake ever…

… meet the RedVolution by Cake Liberation, this is where the sweet-toothed  meet the socially aware.

Believe me when I say, this is the cake you will think about days after you've had your first taste. Its moist, rich, creamy and will make you feel to swoon in delight. Cake Liberation won a Great Taste 2013 award for this divine creation which is a Luxe Valrhona red velvet sponge Vanilla bean cream cheese and raspberry hibiscus coli. I selected this cake not just for its great taste; ALL of Cake Liberation’s products are sumptuous but I felt compelled to share its story.

It’s not just about quality ingredients and deluxe products with Cake Liberation. It's a socially conscious business whose themes are; freedom, revolution and transformation. The divine tasty creation that is RedVolution fronts their campaign to remind us all about food poverty. During the festive season of Christmas and always we must be thankful for our blessings and remember to help those who are not as fortunate.  No one should have to go hungry. Here are the ways that Cake Liberation suggests we can take action:
  • Food Banks
  • Food Education – Jamie Oliver’s Food Foundation
  • Free School Meals
The Children’s Society’s Fair and Square campaign is asking for all children in poverty to receive free school meals.Free school meals are a crucial entitlement for families living in poverty. These meals help to ensure that children from the lowest-income families receive warm, nutritious food in the middle of the day.Support their campaign here:
